Each of Canada’s provinces operates its own entrepreneur program with varying requirements. One can immigrate to Canada as an Entrepreneur through a Provincial Entrepreneur Program. Each Province in Canada has different requirements. In general, the Provincial Entrepreneur Programs require that you purchase a business or start a new business. Each province has different requirements for the minimum investment, net worth, and number of Canadian employees.
The Federal Immigration Entrepreneur Program was a once popular program that was designed to bring in experienced entrepreneurs for the growth of the economy. However, the program was permanently closed on the 19th of June, 2014 after the passing of Bill C-31.

This immigration program is for individuals who have taken part in cultural activities or athletics at a high level. Please contact us for more information.

Intra-Company TransfereeThe intra-company category permits international companies to temporarily transfer qualified employees to Canada for the purpose of improving management effectiveness, expanding Canadian exports, and enhancing competitiveness in overseas markets.
Intra-Company Transferee may be the right program for you if you are currently employed by a multinational company and seeking entry to Canada to work in a parent, a subsidiary, a branch or an affiliate of that enterprise. Intra-Company transferees require a work permit, which is initially valid for 1 year and can be renewed subsequently. Intra-Company transferees are exempted from the requirement of a Labour Market Impact Assessment.

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. After the LMIA is approved the worker can apply for a work permit.

To apply for a work permit, a worker needs a job offer letter, a contract, a copy of the LMIA, and the LMIA number.
